Kids Kingdom offers preschool programs for children aged 30 months to five years enrolled at our Kanata daycare centre. Our program is based on Ontario’s ELECT initiative (Early Learning for Every Child Today) and uses a variety of learning tools meant to inspire kids. These tools include stories, songs, crafts, games, creative activities, and interactive play targeted at the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. In addition, our Kanata preschool program includes a healthy morning and afternoon snack, as well as lunch. All of our food is prepared fresh onsite and meets the standards of the Canadian Food Guide.

Physical Development

Our physical learning initiatives are intended to help children develop hand-eye coordination and motor skills through a variety of stimulating activities. This includes outdoor activities and games when the weather is right, exploration of the Kids Kingdom play centre, and ongoing lessons about health, safety, and hygiene.

Cognitive Development

We help children in our preschool program expand their vocabulary and develop strong language skills. Children will also learn reasoning, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills through a number of mentally-stimulating activities.

Social Development

We use stories, lessons, and interactive play to help children learn and develop critical social skills, including sharing, communication, and common manners. Today’s children have the privilege and the benefit of growing up in a world that is connected on a global level, encouraging socialization between many diverse and different people. For this reason, Kids Kingdom also incorporates an element of cultural awareness in our social education component.

Emotional Development

We help foster and encourage strong emotional development in our Kanata preschool program, by helping children learn to identify emotions in others as well as identifying and appropriately expressing their own feelings.
